This 39-month post is funded by the MRC Developmental Pathway Funding Scheme. Purpose of the study: To co‑produce a smartphone/tablet/web‑based app that will deliver a behavioural intervention to improve obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) patient adherence to continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy that the group have already developed. Co‑production will be done with a patient advisory group, the study team, and professional app designers and app developers.
Responsibilities
* Conduct the clinical studies, collecting all data apart from qualitative interview data.
* Be the main liaison between the study team and patients; arranging research visits and making travel arrangements for these as necessary.
* Be the main liaison between patients, the patient advisory group, and the study team.
* Contribute technical expertise in relation to CPAP devices and associated equipment and how to use CPAP in the intervention and app.
* Work collaboratively with the other research associate and the other members of the study team, and subcontractors designing and developing the app.
* Assist with the analysis of data.
* Ensure the validity and reliability of data collected at all times.
* Maintain accurate and complete records of all findings.
* Making purchases from the lab budget for the project as required.
* Assist with the writing of reports to research sponsors.
* Present findings to colleagues.
* Provide advice to other staff and students.
* Assist with the publication of findings.
* Attend relevant workshops and conferences as necessary.
* Develop contacts within the College and the wider community.
* Promote the reputation of the Group, the Department and the College.
Other Duties
* To undertake any necessary training and/or development.
* To undertake appropriate administration tasks.
* To attend relevant meetings.
