We are hiring a Head of Operations for our Traffic Management. As Head of Operations, you will implement the correct processes and practices across the organisation including formulating strategy, improving performance (including system and process improvements), procuring resources and securing compliance.
Reporting to the UK Operations Director, the Head of Operations will ultimately be responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day running of all Traffic Management depots in England, including those in Aylesbury, Swindon, Somerset, and Cornwall. The role includes managing supply partners, collaborating with our Telco division, and ensuring compliance and safety standards are met.
This will include coordinating the internal structure of the organisation based on company policies, goals and objectives to ensure an efficient working environment and that deadlines are met consistently.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the day‑to‑day running of various depots in England.
* Deploy resources to specific traffic management tasks/activities.
* Ensure strict processes are maintained to the highest standard throughout the business where health & safety is a priority.
* Attend and chair regular management meetings.
* Report to directors on various KPIs relating to company growth and performance.
* Manage Operations Managers at each depot.
* Manage operational supply chain including goods and services obtained.
* Work closely with the Contracts Department to ensure all activities are efficiently and safely carried out within budget.
* Collaborate with clients to ensure delivery while maintaining the highest standards.
* Monitor and control fleet on a day‑to‑day basis while working closely with the transport department.
* Drive profitability and cost optimisation.
* Manage risk, compliance and quality standards.
* Oversee recruitment throughout each depot.
* Build processes for rapid growth or restructuring.
* Drive continuous improvement in Operations.
* Be willing to travel and stay away from home.
* Identify appropriate candidates and grow the operational resource pool according to workstreams.
* Attend quarterly operational and contracts meetings.
