NQ Solicitor – Banking & Property Litigation

(Open to Property Litigation, Debt Recovery, Unsecured Litigation & Defence/Counterclaim/Appeals Experience)

A well-established national law firm with a market-leading lender services offering is looking to appoint a Newly Qualified Solicitor to join its specialist Banking & Litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious NQ to develop a rare and highly sought-after skillset in both property-related disputes and technical banking litigation.

The team is particularly keen to meet candidates based in the North East.

The Role

This position offers outstanding exposure to complex work from day one, supported by experienced Partners and Senior Associates in a close-knit, collaborative team. You will handle a diverse caseload, with a strong emphasis on:

* Title rectification
* Boundary and title discrepancy matters
* Property litigation arising in lender contexts
* Repossession-linked issues interacting with conveyancing
* Lease extension and security-related matters as lenders become increasingly cautious
* More complex banking and mortgage litigation escalated from the firm’s volume teams

You will gain hands‑on responsibility early, with the training, supervision and support needed to develop your technical knowledge rapidly.

Who They’re Looking For

The firm is open to NQ candidates from a range of dispute‑resolution backgrounds, including:

* Property Litigation
* Debt Recovery
* Unsecured Litigation
* General Commercial Litigation
* Experience dealing with defences, counterclaims, or appeals

You don’t need prior banking litigation experience—just strong litigation fundamentals, good technical ability, and a genuine interest in building a niche specialism.

Key Skills & Qualities

* Solid understanding of the litigation process
* Strong drafting and research skills
* Confidence communicating with clients and colleagues
* Ability to manage a varied caseload with support
* Enthusiasm to learn, grow, and contribute to a high‑performing team

Why This Is an Exceptional Opportunity

* Chance to specialise in title rectification—a high‑demand area
* Exposure to complex lender matters typically reserved for more senior lawyers
* Experienced partners who actively mentor junior lawyers
* National‑quality work in a friendly and supportive regional team
* Clear progression pathway as the department continues to grow

There is also a separate process‑driven banking litigation team, with complex matters fed through to this group — ensuring a consistent and stimulating workflow.

Salary & Benefits

* Competitive NQ salary
* Firmwide bonus
* Comprehensive benefits package
* Supportive hybrid working

We are looking to fill this vacancy asap, so if you wish to apply/find out more information, please call Beth Livings at QED Legal today for an informal/confidential chat!
