Description We are looking for a talented Quality Maintenance Technician to join our team specializing in Quality for our Cummins Engine Plant in Darlington, United Kingdom. This is a permanent, on-site position working 37.5 hours per week across a three-shift rotation: Day shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm Back shift: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm – 10:00pm; Friday, 2:00pm – 7:00pm Night shift: Monday to Friday, 10:00pm – 6:00am In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Compliance with HSE regulations, Risk Assessments, and PPE usage, whether on site or at remote facilities and Customer premises. Build up engines conformant to specification to release to the Customer. Rapid and comprehensive diagnosis of engine faults, whether mechanical or electronic, including Root Cause Analysis. Ability to effectively document findings and make recommendations for permanent fixes. Ownership and repair of faults & rebuild of engines consistent with build documentation. Providing analysis of weekly product integrity data. Provide technical assistance & be a resource during containment activities. Support bypass processes to ensure product integrity. Presentation/communication of internal defects to responsible areas using Powerpoint slides or the Defect app. Offline build-up of engines to internal standards and using specifications and technical drawings. Process defective material & shortages using internal systems. Support Marine Certification Agency process by monitoring extended tests, engine stamping & facilitate Agency inspections. Support Matrix team activities by participating and, where appropriate, leading problem-solving processes including Ishikawa, 5Y etc. Conduct internal audits including Boundary Audits and Final, Comparative and Load Audits when needed. Control non-conforming material where needed. Attention to detail in maintaining records of findings. Able to progress work unsupervised & understanding priorities. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and OEM standards. Qualifications Education/ Experience: HNC or other qualification in Diesel Engine Fitting experience/Time Served Apprenticeship Sound knowledge of diesel engine technology & software including Insite and Calterm. Experience of compliance with ISO and industry standards. Familiarity with global service environments (UK and abroad).
