Full Job Description
Delivery Director - Operations
Excellent opportunity to work for a growing consultancy focused on delivering operational performance within the utilities sector.
Location: London
Hybrid working pattern requiring flexibility around client and stakeholder meetings. Typically, 2 days from home and 3 days in an office, either internal or external stakeholder meetings.
Role Description:
The Resolute Group is partnering with a utilities consultancy operating across the UK, involved with key water, gas, and power providers in the sector.
This role is a delivery position focused on operations, not engineering, overseeing the day-to-day operations of a 24/7 service.
The first programme involves managing a team of 100 professionals involved in upgrading and expanding the existing network. You will lead the team responsible for the 24/7 operation of the control room to ensure minimal disruption, including planning, permits, and scheduling, with fines in place for delays and network disruptions.
You will have full control of the programme and assets on behalf of the client, ensuring a smooth transition from project completion to normal operations. All processes must be seamlessly integrated into existing systems, including data capture, asset register updates, and stakeholder interfacing.
While the project includes installing new pipelines, pumps, and valves, this role focuses on operations and network management. Your team will liaise with contractors to ensure milestones are met and will lead operational efforts to maintain network standards and expectations.
The offices are based around London, with travel to regional offices such as Birmingham on an ad hoc basis. Living in the Home Counties is ideal, but travel is covered if you live further away.
Candidate Background:
* Degree qualification – subject varies as this is NOT an engineering role.
* Experience in utilities, such as water, gas, or power networks.
* Operational experience, understanding how a 24/7 utility network operates from control room to asset management.
* Previous consultancy experience is preferred to understand stakeholder engagement and asset upgrade challenges.
PLEASE NOTE
You must be eligible to live and work in the UK to apply.
