Salut! is an independent, 28-cover restaurant in the heart of Islington, serving a modern European, seasonal menu. Since opening in 2015, weve built a reputation for warm, welcoming service and beautifully presented dishes with serious attention to detail. Were now looking for a talented and driven Sous Chef to join our small, passionate team.
What were looking for:
Were looking for someone with a fine dining background ideally with Michelin or Michelin-recommended experience who brings a high standard of cooking, creativity, and presentation.
That said, this isn't a high-pressure, shouty kitchen. Were a small team that works closely together in a much more relaxed and friendly environment, where the focus is on serving delicious, seasonal, and well-presented food thats interesting and enjoyable to cook.
Key responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Ensure consistency and excellence in preparation, cooking, and plating
Maintain strong hygiene and food safety standards
Train and support junior staff
Contribute to menu planning and cost control
Lead calmly and confidently during busy service
You should have:
Experience in a fine dining or Michelin-level kitchen
A strong command of English
A passion for modern European food and creative presentation
Excellent organisational skills and kitchen discipline
A calm, professional attitude and strong sense of teamwork
What we offer:
£38,000 per year (including service charge)
