Job Overview

The Conference & Banqueting Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of events held within our venue. This position requires a dynamic individual with a passion for hospitality and exceptional organisational skills. The ideal candidate will ensure that every event runs smoothly, from initial planning through to execution, while providing outstanding guest services and maximising revenue through effective upselling strategies.

Responsibilities

* Manage the planning and execution of conferences, banquets, and other events, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and service.
* Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences, providing tailored solutions to enhance their experience.
* Oversee the setup and breakdown of event spaces, ensuring all equipment and materials are in place.
* Coordinate with kitchen staff, service teams, and other departments to ensure seamless event operations.
* Implement effective upselling techniques to maximise revenue opportunities during the planning process.
* Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the event lifecycle to ensure satisfaction.
* Monitor budgets and expenses related to events, ensuring financial targets are met.
* Train and supervise staff involved in event operations, fostering a positive team environment.
* Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in hospitality and event management.

Requirements

* Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably with restaurant or hotel experience.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
* Excellent time management skills, enabling efficient prioritisation of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
* Experience in fundraising or managing charitable events is advantageous but not essential.
* A genuine passion for guest services and hospitality, ensuring every guest has a memorable experience.
