We are looking for an experienced Building Assistant to work with one of Mitie's clients, providing a multi-skilled maintenance service.
The role is within a team of 3, supported by on-site management. We offer a wide range of facilities services. PPM & Reactive works are transmitted via a CAFM system by a helpdesk and received on a handheld device. Flexibility, physical fitness, and customer focus are essential. Some overtime and participation in a callout rota outside normal hours are required.
Summary of Key Points
* 40 hours/week – shifts between 06:00-18:00, on a 2-week rolling schedule
* Participate in an on-call rota, currently 2 in 6, with additional pay
* Based at a static site in Thorne
Main Duties
* Assist on-site management in organizing and coordinating services to ensure high standards
* Conduct minor surveys and inspections
* Write simple reports
* Achieve SLA/KPI targets for reactive and planned work orders
* Complete work documentation accurately and promptly
* Follow MITIE & client policies and procedures
* Perform work safely, using risk assessments as needed
* Comply with Health and Safety policies
* Participate in training and appraisals
* Undertake additional duties as capable
* Ensure health and safety compliance and assist in team training
* Perform maintenance on water services, including diagnostics and repairs
* Adhere to quality system documentation
Person Specification
* Experience in building maintenance and repair
* Basic repairs across multiple disciplines
* City & Guilds or equivalent preferred but not essential
* Customer care focus
* Health and Safety awareness
* Full driving license
* Smart appearance and professional demeanor
* Polite, patient, good humored
* Administrative skills
* Reliable, flexible, team player
* Strong work ethic
