Job Brief We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Autism Support Worker to assist in the delivery of autism-friendly sports taster sessions for young people aged 8–18. Working alongside the Sports Leader and professional coaches, your role will focus on supporting participants' needs, building confidence, and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. This is an ideal role for students or individuals with a background or strong interest in inclusive sport, education, or care work. Programme: ‘Give it a Go’ Autism-Friendly Sports Taster Programme Duration: July 2025 – April 2026 (During School Holidays) Hours: 16 hours per week (during delivery periods within the hours 9:00-5:00) Location: Various venues across the Tees Valley ​ Closing date is 30th July 2025 at 5pm. Key Responsibilities - Assist the Care Team Leader in delivering safe and inclusive sessions. - Provide individual or small-group support to participants. - Encourage participation, confidence, and enjoyment in all activities. - Help ensure an autism-friendly setting in collaboration with coaches. - Maintain a positive, upbeat, and respectful session environment. - Offer feedback and reflections during team debriefs. ​ This job outline is intended to indicate the broad range of responsibilities and requirements of the post. Essential: - Friendly, energetic, and proactive with a passion for working with young people. - Able to support autistic or neurodivergent individuals in group settings. - Ability to travel to various locations across the Tees Valley. Desirable: - Experience (paid or voluntary) supporting autistic young people. - Working towards or holding a relevant qualification in sports, care, or youth work (Level 1 or 2 desirable) - Ideal for students or anyone seeking meaningful holiday work. ​ Ethos & Culture I am passionate about improving the lives of autistic children and adults and committed to Daisy Chain’s values, culture, and ethos.
