* A Clerk of Works role covering the Essex area; candidates ideally should reside within Essex.
* The focus is on new build residential projects.
* The role is based from home with site visits within Essex and bordering counties on a daily basis.
* Relevant backgrounds include previous experience as a Clerk of Works or Site Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Undertake inspections of ongoing building works on residential sites, liaising with contractors and preparing reports for employer’s agents and project managers.
* Stay updated with building regulations and compliance standards.
* Demonstrate a good understanding of the building and housing industry, including technical and construction awareness, materials, trades, methods, and legal requirements.
* Use good observation skills to identify discrepancies and raise issues appropriately.
* Prepare high-standard written reports with supporting photographs and submit them in a timely manner.
* Organise snagging and defect inspections with clients.
* Maintain good communication skills and a diplomatic manner to foster positive client relationships.
Desired Skills and Experience
* At least 5+ years of relevant experience, capable of working independently and competently. Additional experience is welcome.
* Experience in writing professional reports to high standards.
* Up-to-date technical knowledge.
* Good organizational skills to manage and prioritize workload.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to work under pressure.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
* ICWCI accreditation is highly desirable.
* Other designations such as CIOB, CABE, RICS, IFE will also be considered.

Additional Benefits Package and Incentives
Salary range of £40,000 to £48,000 depending on experience.
