Overview
We are recruiting for a Consultant Otolaryngologist with a Special Interest in Otology who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff. This role is to provide consultant services to maintain the capacity of the department during a period of expansion. The post holder will be expected to provide a subspecialist Otology service, whilst continuing to undertake the management of General ENT patients at MMH.
This is a supplementary post and will be based at Medway Maritime Hospital with possible sessions at Darent Valley Hospital if there is a requirement in future. The successful candidate will join a team of 8 Consultant ENT Surgeons at MFT and 2 Consultants with a Special Interest in Head and Neck Surgery holding joint posts with Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead.
The appointee will be expected to contribute to the provision and development of high quality general ENT care for the Medway and Darent Valley populations. The post is designed to support a busy general ENT service, whilst participating in the provision of a specialised otological disorders service at Medway. The current clinical lead/director carries aspirations for regional otology collaboration in the near future.
Responsibilities
* Provide a subspecialist Otology service while continuing to manage General ENT patients at Medway Maritime Hospital (MMH).
* Contribute to the provision and development of high quality general ENT care for the Medway and Darent Valley populations.
* Support a busy general ENT service and participate in the provision of a specialised otological disorders service at Medway.
* Engage in regional otology collaboration aspirations led by the clinical lead/director.
* Collaborate with the team of ENT surgeons and joint posts with related specialties as part of a broader regional service.
