Hourly
Fermentation Operator III
Working under the supervision of the Fermentation Departmental Superintendent, the full-time Operator III’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Add or mix chemicals and ingredients for processing, using hand tools or other devices.
* Clean and maintain equipment in a safe and orderly condition.
* Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing.
* Interpret laboratory data and make necessary adjustments to operate within established parameters.
* Dump or pour specified amounts of materials into machinery and equipment for processing.
* Examine materials, ingredients, or products visually to ensure conformance to standards.
* Observe production and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
* Operate chemical processing equipment, pumps, valves, agitators, pressure vessels, etc., safely and efficiently.
* Read work orders, SOPs, directions, and guidelines to determine production specifications.
* Calculate chemical amounts for making up tanks using basic mathematics.
* Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas using moving equipment and hand tools as needed.
* Follow ADM and OSHA safety regulations, GMPs, and QA standards in all duties.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include:
* Ability to read, write, and schedule.
* Computer literacy, including keyboarding and mouse use.
* Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
* Teamwork skills.
* Forklift operation ability.
* Ability to work at heights.
* Ability to lift 50 lbs.
* Experience in an industrial environment is a plus.
Minimum qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
