Account Manager – Chemical Sector
Location: Manchester (1 day in office, Thursdays)
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 + Bonus

We’re proud to be partnering with a market-leading business in the chemical sector to recruit an experienced Account Manager to join their dynamic and driven commercial team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a high-value portfolio of accounts (approx. £18M), where you’ll play a key role in growing existing business and developing new client relationships. The sales process is longer-term and consultative – ideal for someone who thrives in building deep, strategic partnerships over time.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Take full ownership of a portfolio of high-value B2B customers, managing both strategic and tactical plans.
* Drive growth across existing accounts and generate new business opportunities within your territory.
* Lead the end-to-end account management process: from building contact strategies to improving service delivery and identifying growth opportunities.
* Build relationships with key decision-makers at all levels, using a mix of telephone and face-to-face engagement.
* Negotiate contracts, manage pricing, and ensure all customer interactions are commercially sound.
* Act as the key liaison for all commercial, sales and service performance matters with your customer base.
* Champion service improvements and work cross-functionally to deliver best-in-class solutions.
What You’ll Bring
* A background in B2B /account management, ideally in a technical, manufacturing or chemical-related industry.
* Experience with longer sales cycles and complex decision-making units (DMUs).
* Proven ability to grow accounts and develop new business over time.
* Commercial acumen and strong negotiation skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills – you know how to build trust.
* Confidence using MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
