A new role has arisen in the legal team for a Solicitor, on a 12-month fixed term contract, to advise on or commission external legal advice on a range of transactional matters including grants, capital projects, securities and property.
\n\n
As the Solicitor for Capital Projects and Property, you will work as part of a small legal team, working closely with the Director of Legal Services as well as liaising with external firms and other fund distributing bodies. You will ensure the council complies with all relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks, identifying and managing risk. You will coordinate and manage the preparation, execution, recording, reporting and filing of legal documents, including deeds, as well as drafting and negotiating documents and materials; reflecting best practice and value for money.

To be considered for the role, you will be qualified and registered as a Solicitor in England & Wales or hold equivalent qualification as a lawyer in a comparable jurisdiction, preferably with at least 3 years post qualification experience working in private practice or in-house in a medium/ large sized organisation.
