About The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and self‑motivated pharmacy technician to work within our Medicines Information service.
Are you a committed, motivated, and enthusiastic technician with a passion to teach? If so, would you like to join our pharmacy team, based at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, providing trust wide teaching across Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The post will encompass both Medicines Information and Training, working in collaboration with pharmacy colleagues and clinicians whilst expanding the Medicines Information service.
Responsibilities
* You will manage the training of technicians and pre‑registration trainee technicians, senior assistant technical officers, including clinical supervisions of staff.
* You will also support the training of medicine management roles such as patient medicines reconciliation, patient counselling, ordering of leave medication, accuracy checking of prescriptions and participate in dispensary duties.
* To manage and develop training needs of the technical staff within the pharmacy department.
* To supply medicines, relevant advice or information to patients or Healthcare staff in a professional manner.
* Assist with the provision of a high quality pharmacy service to patients of the Trust.
* To undertake general management along with HR concerns.
* To support the Senior Managers Group (SMG) deliver the highest possible professional standards within the department.
* To ensure staff have an understanding of and implement relevant departmental procedures.
* To ensure that all aspects of technical dispensary work are covered by appropriate policies or procedures.
* Ensuring that technicians, Senior assistants and assistants involved in training are competent and appropriately supported so as to provide a high level of service to the patients in their area.

Training and support will be given as appropriate to maximise your potential! The successful candidate will be enrolled onto the next UKMi training Course if you haven’t already completed this.
