Business Analyst - Payments - Banking - London
An experienced Business Analyst is required by a mid-size UK bank to work on a Payments Transformation project.
Currently undergoing a significant period of digital and technical evolution, they are embarking on a multi-year Payments Transformation Programme to modernise their payments infrastructure, enhance customer experience, and ensure compliance with evolving industry standards.
You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between business needs and technical delivery, playing a pivotal role in the success of this high-visibility programme.
Key Responsibilities:
* Elicit, analyse, and document detailed business requirements, working across various workstreams.
* Conduct in-depth analysis of existing payment processes and identify areas for improvement.
* Translate business needs into clear, concise, and testable functional and non-functional requirements.
* Create and maintain business analysis artefacts, including process maps, user stories, use cases, and data models.
* Work closely with business stakeholders, including Operations, Finance, and Compliance teams, to ensure alignment and buy-in for new solutions.
* Collaborate with technical teams, architects, and third-party vendors to ensure technical feasibility and successful solution delivery.
* Support the testing and Quality Assurance (QA) teams by clarifying requirements and assisting with issue resolution.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
* Proven experience as a Business Analyst, within the UK banking sector.
* Demonstrable experience working on at least one major payments project (e.g., payments gateway implementation, platform migration, ISO 20022 migration).
* Solid understanding of UK payment schemes (e.g., Bacs, CHAPS, Faster Payments).
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of payments standards such as ISO 20022.
* Experience working on Card Payments
* Familiarity with Open Banking and PSD2 regulations.
* Experience with payments processing systems and technologies.
