As a First Class Customer Host, you’ll be at the very heart of our on-board team, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere and delivering truly memorable service to every customer.

From answering questions and serving delicious meals and drinks, to making sure the carriage is spotless and comfortable, you’ll play a key role in making every journey feel extra special.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for friendly, hardworking people who love making others smile. You’ll bring a positive attitude, a professional approach, and the confidence to handle whatever the day brings.

Polite, reliable, and resilient you’ll understand that great service is all about the little things, and your personality will help bring our First-Class experience to life.

At East Midlands Railway, we want every customer to step off the train feeling like their day was made better by you. If you're passionate about people and ready to go the extra mile, we’d love to welcome you aboard.

The role requires shift work based on a rota to provide customer service throughout the whole day, this could be on the first train in the morning or the last train at night so you will need to be flexible and it will include weekend work.

If you are successful at the assessment day you will either, be offered an immediate vacancy, or you will be placed into the Talent Pool for a maximum of 12 months. During those 12 months, you will not need to apply for this role again. As and when we have Customer Host vacancies arise, we will be able to pick up the phone and make a job offer.
