The Team
The Monitoring Data & Systems Team (MDS) manages vital environmental monitoring systems and datasets. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting colleagues, analysing data and improving the systems that underpin our work.
Responsibilities
* Set up and manage user accounts.
* Support users and resolve issues, especially as we transition to our new My Environment application.
* Update, improve and maintain datasets.
* Respond to internal and external data requests.
* Support system improvement and upgrade projects.
All staff undertake required training and may be called upon to perform incident response duties when needed. This role is essential to supporting communities and safeguarding the environment.

Experience and Skills
* Experience working with large, complex datasets.
* Willingness to develop new technical skills and apply them across monitoring data and systems.
* Motivated, organised, friendly and helpful with attention to detail, comfortable in a dispersed team environment.
* Proactive and enjoys solving problems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication – able to explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships, deliver through others and provide excellent customer service.
Desirable Skills
* Experience using and managing environmental monitoring data systems.
* Experience with PowerBI, Access, Excel, Python, SharePoint Online and R.
* Working knowledge of water‑quality monitoring.
Location and Working Arrangements
Work location is flexible but a base at one of our English offices is required. Hybrid home/office working is offered, with occasional travel for meetings.
Interview Process
Interviews will be conducted via MS Teams at the end of December or beginning of January. Successful candidates may be offered an apprenticeship.
