Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Graduate Quantity/Building Surveyor to join our team, providing cost management and commercial support to care home construction projects across the North West UK. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain practical experience in a vital and meaningful sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents
* Support the evaluation and negotiation of subcontractor and supplier quotes
* Assist with the purchasing of site materials to ensure value for money
* Monitor project expenditure and assist with cost reporting and forecasting
* Contribute to the preparation of valuations, variations, and final accounts
* Work closely with project managers, contractors, and design teams to ensure projects remain on budget and schedule
* Help ensure that all works comply with relevant regulations, contracts, and standards specific to care environments
Requirements:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related discipline
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Basic knowledge of construction contracts (e.g. JCT, NEC)
* Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and procurement practices
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other project management tools
* Full UK driving licence required
Desirable:
* Working towards RICS or other professional accreditation
* Previous experience in healthcare, residential, or care home construction projects
