Our client, a boutique energy consultancy, is looking for an Account Manager to join their growing client services team. As the Account Manager, you’ll deliver energy procurement and consultancy services to a portfolio of prestigious commercial clients, including those in the independent schools sector. Key responsibilities for the Account Manager:
1. Contract management: Portfolio of fixed price contracts that require periodic tendering following receipt of renewed instructions via submission of proposals.
2. General contract management, including meetings, calls, advice and assistance and insight on procurement strategy.
3. Managing successful procurement exercises with a team of specialists
4. Liaising with tendering managers on instructions, site changes, renewable energy projects (reducing kWh), tender report content.
5. Central point of contact for a designated group of clients where focused knowledge of energy markets and the client portfolio will be needed to preserve strong working relationships.
6. Client report presentations: Face to face client meetings, video presentations and occasional attendance at client networking events.
7. Upselling services to existing (and new) clients
8. Identify needs and opportunities to develop accounts with additional service offerings, particularly focused on bureau and carbon data / reporting.
9. Assist with the acquisition of new accounts including reviewing invoices, checking data, and building commercial proposal content.
10. Seeking referral business and new clients generally within a small range of sectors.
11. Working with the Client Services Director to grow the portfolio and refine the strategy
Skills and experience required for the Account Manager:
12. 3-5 years account management experience within an energy consultancy/ brokerage or supply
13. Energy market knowledge – procurement/ pricing, outlook and industry initiatives/changes
14. Retentions/ renewals and up/ cross selling services experience
15. Excellent numeric, written and presenting skills including Excel charts, pivot tables and power point slide packs
16. Strong attention to detail, efficient, well organised and productive
17. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a close team, proactively striving to deliver
18. Ability to communicate confidently with clients, suppliers and business partners
