Description
Are you ready to shape the future of CFD methodology within a world‑class motorsport environment? We're looking for a Team Leader – CFD Operations to drive innovation, optimise processes, and lead a high‑performing technical team at the cutting edge of aerodynamic development.
As our Team Leader for CFD Operations, you will lead and develop the CFD Operations Group, owning the strategy, roadmap and execution of improvements to our CFD processes.
This is a pivotal role focused on enhancing efficiency, reliability, and scalability of workflows used by aerodynamicists — covering automation, thermal integration, CAD‑to‑CFD development, meshing strategy, and baseline comparison.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, grow and develop the CFD Operations Group, providing clear technical and strategic direction.
Own the improvement roadmap for CFD processes, including workflow optimisation, automation and thermal workflow integration.
Manage and enhance CFD submission, monitoring, and data management workflows.
Develop automation tools to minimise manual intervention and improve turnaround time.
Own the CAD‑to‑CFD workflow and meshing strategy in partnership with the Solver Group.
Deliver accurate CFD baseline comparisons, cross‑car analysis and aero progress tracking.
Ensure data integrity, robust version control and compliance with internal and FIA requirements.
Integrate FSI processes with the Structures Group into the CFD workflow.
Monitor HPC usage, RATG compliance and resource allocation.
Work closely with aerodynamicists to understand needs and continuously improve tools and processes.
Track industry developments in CFD automation, thermal analysis, meshing and HPC management.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Strong background in CFD processes, workflow optimisation and thermal CFD integration.
Proven experience developing automation tools and scripts for CFD workflows.
Understanding of aerodynamic development workflows and CFD baseline management.
Ideally, familiarity with FSI methods and integration.
Confident software engineering skills including version control, CI/CD and release management.
Awareness of FIA compliance and auditing processes.
A strategic thinker who sees the big picture but understands the detail.
A strong leader able to inspire, develop and mentor a highly skilled team.
Detail‑driven, with a passion for accuracy, process integrity and excellence.
