The FP&A Assistant Accountant will support the Group FP&A Manager to deliver management reporting and analysis across the growing group. Partner with the business to provide feedback and insights into performance through analysis and quality output. Key responsibilities Detailed forecasting over short and medium term Weekly cashflow reporting Variance analysis to understand the company's financial performance, with a particular focus on costs Analysis of multiple business units operating in different sectors Support preparation of monthly reporting packs, ensuring commentary is meaningful Support the annual budgeting process Contribution to board presentations Assist in evaluating and supporting plans for new opportunities across the group Ad-hoc projects as required by the Group FP&A Manager Qualifications & experience Essential Part qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA Relevant experience in finance team as assistant accountant or similar Analytical skills including good knowledge of Excel (pivot tables and lookups) Desirable Relevant experience within professional services company and or PE backed business Understanding of budgeting, forecasting and cash flows Experience in or working alongside an FP&A team Technical, training & skill levels Effective use of IT including Excel, Word, Outlook and good knowledge of a finance system Manages own workload and time effectively to meet internal and external deadlines Proactive nature to resolve issues and queries Attention to detail and problem solving Commercially minded and ability to identify areas to add value Effective communication and people skills, ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and management Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
