The Role
As a Gas Seals Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting global customers across the full engineering lifecycle - from design and manufacture through to testing and field support. You’ll act as a technical expert, solving real-world challenges and contributing to high-impact, fast-paced projects.
This is a highly collaborative position where you’ll work closely with engineering, operations, and commercial teams, while also engaging directly with customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage engineering input across gas seal support projects
* Investigate and analyse in-house test failures, identifying design improvements
* Perform and interpret engineering calculations and analyses
* Provide clear technical recommendations to support business and customer decisions
* Deliver technical presentations to internal stakeholders and external clients
* Support commercial teams in customer meetings and technical discussions
* Collaborate with development engineering on bespoke or innovative solutions
* Work closely with operations to ensure smooth project delivery
* Use FEA tools and CAD to analyse issues and communicate design modifications
* Respond to technical queries with detailed and professional solutions
About You
We’re looking for a proactive and technically strong engineer who enjoys problem-solving and working in a customer-facing environment.
You will bring:
* Experience in a mechanical engineering role
* Knowledge of rotating equipment or precision engineering
* Exposure to failure analysis or root cause investigations (highly desirable)
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings (P&IDs, GA, detailed drawings)
* Awareness of control systems and instrumentation
* Strong communication skills and commercial awareness
* Ability to manage your own workload and deliver to deadlines
* Confidence in leading or contributing to technical discussions and meetings
Experience within the oil & gas sector would be advantageous, but not essential.
