The Cover Supervisor Programme with Vision for Education offers a practical, paid way to gain valuable classroom experience in secondary schools while keeping your future options open.

Vision for Education is recruiting aspiring educators to join our Cover Supervisor Programme, supporting secondary schools and building the skills, confidence, and experience needed for teacher training or long-term careers in education.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom when the teacher is absent, ensuring learning continues throughout the school day.

Your responsibilities will include:

7. Supervising classes of approximately 25–30 secondary pupils

8. Delivering pre-planned lessons (no subject specialism required)

9. Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment

10. Taking registers and following school policies

11. Providing feedback to teaching staff

This role offers flexible daily supply work alongside opportunities for longer fixed-term placements, making it ideal for those planning future study or a career change into education.

Cover Supervisor Programme

No previous teaching experience is required. Vision for Education’s Cover Supervisor Programme is designed specifically for people looking to get into teaching or work in schools.

The programme supports you with:

12. Training focused on classroom management

13. Safeguarding and professional expectations in schools

14. Building confidence leading lessons

15. Ongoing guidance from experienced education consultants

This structured programme helps prepare candidates for PGCE courses, SCITT routes, and other teacher training options.

Requirements

24. Eligibility to work in the UK and a DBS (or willingness to apply)
