Sanctuary Supported Living is delighted to be recruiting for a Support Assistant at our CQC Registered Mental Health Service at Aldam House in Goole. The role is within the Health and Social Care department (Qualified and Non-Qualified) and operates under Sanctuary Supported Living. Closing Date:. Requisition: 225998. Salary: £12.70 per hour. Hours: 37.5 per week.

Responsibilities
* Providing support to encourage customers with mental health needs to maximise their own potential
* Providing a high-quality, hands-on support service
* Encouraging customers to develop daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and participation in their community
* Encouraging social inclusion and helping customers build confidence, resilience, and self-esteem
* Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of customers and encouraging choice and involvement; acting as an advocate when required
* Maintaining a safe environment for customers, providing support in line with relevant regulations, procedures, and practices
Skills and experience
* A caring, approachable nature with a confident “can-do” attitude
* Ability to keep accurate records and clearly communicate information to the team
* Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with customers, families, and internal/external agencies
* Experience of working as a member of a team
* A positive and accepting approach to customers whatever their needs
* Level 2 NVQ Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards
