We are looking for a caring and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work closely with Reception-aged children at a special needs school in Smethwick. This role is perfect if you have experience in a school setting—experience working in nursery is also welcome, but school experience is essential. You’ll be supporting children with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning and develop important early skills in a nurturing environment. What you’ll be doing: •Providing one-to-one and small group support for Reception children with SEND •Assisting with activities that support communication, social skills, and learning development •Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to follow tailored support plans •Helping create a calm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment What we’re looking for: •Previous school experience is a must—nursery experience accepted but not a substitute •Experience supporting young children with SEND •Patience, kindness, and a genuine passion for helping children grow •Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team •A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply Refer a friend!
