Who are we?
CTSG is a fast-growing, values-led business in the security engineering sector, and we’re on the lookout for a People & Culture Manager to help us scale sustainably.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of the full employee lifecycle — from search and selection through to separation… and everything in between. You’ll be the trusted advisor to line managers, ensuring our people practices are compliant, commercially sound, and consistent with our values.
What you’ll be doing
* Driving recruitment and retention, helping us to find and keep the right people to continue fuelling our growth.
* Applying your employment law expertise in a way that protects the business without the burden of unnecessary bureaucracy, keeping processes lean and pragmatic. Compliance meets commerciality every day!
* Proactive problem-solving – preventing issues before they escalate, and supporting managers with confidence, compassion and clarity
* Owning and improving our HR systems (Breathe) and ensuring people processes run smoothly.
* Championing initiatives that support our values, culture, and employee experience.
While the Operations Director takes an active interest in strategic people matters, you’ll bring the HR expertise and professional credibility to guide and influence, even if opportunities to lead strategically are limited in the short term.
What we’re looking for:
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
* CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent), ideally with active membership
* Solid HR generalist background across the full employee lifecycle
* Strong working knowledge of UK employment law, applied in a pragmatic and commercially focused way
* Proven recruitment experience, with a track record of supporting retention and engagement
* HRIS administration and data management skills
* Ability to build strong relationships and influence effectively
* Sector experience in construction, engineering, or related industries (desirable)
Personal Attributes
* Commercially aware, proactive, and pragmatic
* Values-led and approachable, with strong coaching skills
* Anticipates issues and tackles them with solutions, not red tape
* Resilient, patient, and comfortable challenging respectfully
* Highly organised and able to balance multiple demands
Our culture & values
We’re a small, ambitious family business built on:
* Consistency – doing the basics brilliantly
* Togetherness – one united team
* Solutions-orientation – finding answers, not excuses
* Gumption – courage, initiative, and positive energy
What we offer
* Hybrid working (typically 2–3 days in the office, but we’re flexible)
* 23 days annual leave + bank holidays + birthday off (rising with service)
* Westfield Health membership
* Colleagues who care, and want to develop
* The chance to grow alongside the business as it scales
