Your new role
The company is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design and build projects, with a proven track record in estimating for plumbing, heating, and HVAC systems. Hybrid working conditions would be considered for this role, allowing you to balance office and remote work.Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical services projects, including plumbing, heating, and HVAC systems.
* Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
* Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for accurate estimation.
* Maintain and update a database of costs, suppliers, and subcontractors.
* Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and reports to clients and management.
* Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and contract negotiations.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction or mechanical services industry.
* Strong knowledge of plumbing, heating, and HVAC systems.
* Design and build experience is essential.
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
* Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
