As Global Head of Technical Claims & Exposure Management, you will, in collaboration with the Business Unit Chief Claims Officers, their teams and Claim Practice leaders:

* Drive consistency in claims practices, particularly around large losses and catastrophic events.
* Develop and share a global view of the claim exposures, portfolio and trends with the wider business, communicating insights and experiences across products and geographies.
* Identify claims trends and insights and partner with all relevant stakeholders to take appropriate actions.

You will be part of the Claims Leadership Team, actively contributing to wider claims initiatives. You will also be the principal Claims Stakeholder partner for other functions such as GCUO, AFR and Ceded Re.

The role is open to candidates from all locations with home office location to be agreed. The scope is worldwide therefore a flexible approach is required. There will be some international travel and work outside of normal office hours may be required given multiple time zones.

We are excited to have implemented our Smart Working initiative offering a hybrid way of working, combining both remote and office working.


What you’ll be doing

* Globally monitor a portfolio of the largest and most complex losses and potential exposures handled within the Claims Organization, promoting best claim handling practices and ensuring compliance with early warning and large loss protocols.
* Large Loss Governance: Responsible for continuous development of the Large Loss Framework, ensuring consistency across Business Units and Product Lines and leading roundtables and strategy determination on claims exceeding thresholds.
* Act as a Strategic Business Partner to GCUO Leadership, ensuring each GCUO leader has an appropriate Claims Business partner.
* Lead the Claims team in investigating exposures and response to large loss and catastrophic events, serving as the Claims Major Event Management response.
* Lead the Global Practice community, driving that group in surfacing lessons learned and sharing across the claims community.
* Work with the Data & Analytics team, driving continuous evolution and improvement of claims data insights, including Key Performance Metrics.

You will report to the Chief Administrative Officer & Global Chief Claims Officer.


What you’ll bring

* Exposure Management: In depth experience in Major Event/Catastrophe and Exposure Management including identification, tracking, reporting and analysis.
* Strategic Leadership: Ability to lead, inspire and support a team of experts across various countries.
* Claims Experience: Extensive claims experience across core business lines.
* Legal & Regulatory Knowledge: Robust knowledge of multi-jurisdictional insurance coverage law and claim regulations.
* Market knowledge: Good knowledge of Americas, UK & Lloyds and APAC & Europe market dynamics.
* Customer Focus: High dedication to customer service including professionalism and diplomacy in broker and insured relations.
* Effective Collaborator: Develop and maintain productive working relationships within claims and elsewhere.
* Supportive of colleagues/emerging talent: Provide support, encouragement and training to colleagues.
* Outstanding Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, presentation and influencing skills.
* Results Oriented: Approach tasks proactively and anticipate needs.
* Continuous Improvement Focused: Willing to ask questions and explore new ideas.
* Fluent in English (and desirable another European Language such as French or German).

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $275,000 to $325,000 USD. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience and location.
