MSK Orthopaedic Rotational Physiotherapist

Salary: £45,953 to £54,254 per annum inclusive of High Cost Area Supplement.

About the role
Band 5 physiotherapists (or emerging Band 6) who are confident, motivated and wish to develop new clinical and managerial skills within an acute setting will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic team delivering a broad range of MSK, rheumatology and orthopaedics services across three hospitals.
Responsibilities
* Participate in projects that enhance the MSK and orthopaedic services.
* Manage a busy, variable caseload in an outpatient setting, receiving referrals from consultants and GPs.
* Provide inpatient cover across elective and trauma caseloads.
* Supervise a Band 5 physiotherapist and students, including appraisals, teaching and clinical support.
* Collaborate with Band 7 line managers to develop managerial and leadership skills.
* Contribute to the innovative in‑service training programme and strategic leadership initiatives.
* Work one weekend in five as part of the MSK/Orthopaedic weekend working service (excluding respiratory on‑call).
Person Specification
* Experience: Minimum 18 months in a physiotherapy specialty, with at least two specialist MSK rotations (including an orthopaedic inpatient rotation).
* Band 5 working toward Band 6 or a Band 6 physiotherapist.
* Statutory competence in MSK and orthopaedics, with experience in neuro, community and rheumatology rotations.
* Evidence of ongoing CPD, audit participation and completion of external courses or clinical educator programmes.
* Demonstrated commitment to the NHS values and patient‑centred care.
