Qualified Social Worker, Duty/Child Protection Team, Wigan Council. Pay rate to £38 per hour. Contract role.
Vitalis are recruiting for an experienced social worker to work in a Duty/Child Protection Team in Wigan. The Duty service in Wigan consists of 5 duty teams and a Duty Academy. You will be on Duty one week in five and have the support of a Team Manager, Advanced Practitioner and a Senior Social Worker. Families who we work with in Duty require our expert assessment and intervention skills. The Duty service is fast paced and involves working on one of the 5 main Duty teams. Due to a 5-week Duty cycle, this role means you will only be on Duty 1 in every 5 weeks. Case transfer points include the Initial Child Protection Case Conference, the first CLA review, the first PLO meeting and the 3rd CIN meeting. The Duty service does not hold cases long term; following your assessment and intervention period, the outcome will determine the best team for the family to step across to.
Responsibilities
Work within a Duty/Child Protection team in a fast-paced environment. Provide expert assessment and intervention to families. Contribute to decisions on case transfers to the most appropriate team after the assessment period. Collaborate with a Team Manager, Advanced Practitioner and a Senior Social Worker to support families.
