Job Title: Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) - Full-Time / Part-Time Location: Salford Royal Hospital, Salford Employer: Bluestones Medical Agency Pay Rate: £16.00 - £27.00 per hour About the Role Bluestones Medical Agency is currently recruiting experienced Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) to support theatre services at Salford Royal Hospital. These roles are available on a full-time or part-time agency basis, providing flexibility while working within a busy and supportive surgical environment. As an ODP, you will play a key role in supporting patients and surgical teams throughout the perioperative process, ensuring patient safety, maintaining theatre efficiency, and delivering high standards of clinical care. Key Responsibilities Provide professional support to surgical teams during the anaesthetic, scrub, and recovery phases of surgical procedures. Prepare and check operating theatres, ensuring all equipment, instruments, and supplies are ready for use. Assist the anaesthetist with the preparation and administration of anaesthesia. Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to strict infection control procedures. Monitor patients' vital signs and respond appropriately to any changes in condition. Ensure patient safety and comfort before, during, and after procedures. Work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, anaesthetists, and other theatre staff. Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital policies and clinical governance standards. Requirements Qualified Operating Department Practitioner with valid HCPC registration. Previous experience working within a theatre environment. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anaesthetic equipment, and patient monitoring. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Flexibility to work full-time or part-time agency shifts.
