The post holder will be responsible for manufacturing insoles (foot orthoses) and other orthoses (bracing) including footwear adaptations to the prescription provided by Podiatrists and Orthotists.
Support clinical team within the clinical environment with clinical tasks including fitting of orthotic products to patients.
Based at Port Talbot Resource centre with some work at other Swansea Bay UHB sites, you will be part of the MSK Podiatry and Orthotics teams providing high quality service to patients accessing the service.
You will need excellent hand eye coordination for high skilled manufacture and excellent communication skills throughout.
Main duties of the job
• Manufacturing work involving grinding machinery and use of hand tools
• In-putting information onto computer database
• Coordinating delivery and fitting of orthotic products to patients
• Communication with patients, suppliers & team members
• Support the clinical team within the clinical environment.
• Quality control
• Stock taking and ordering of stock and bespoke products
• Ensuring a safe working environment

6. Good standard of literacy and numeracy skills to GCSE level Knowledge of podiatric conditions, procedures; acquired through training, experience to NVQ level 3 or equivalent
7. Undertake in house training for manufacture of simple & complex foot orthoses, footwear adaptions and adjustment repair and adaption of other orthopaedic devices.
8. Maintenance of a CPD portfolio, recording learning outcomes through participation in self-Directed and internal and external development opportunities to provide evidence to demonstrate updated skills and knowledge and development. Ability to use Microsoft, e.g. word, excel, outlook & virtual platforms etc
