We are recruiting a lead post-doctoral researcher with a background in nutrition for an ESRC funded project on ultra-processed food, nutrition and eating behaviour. The researcher will join the Department of Psychology and be based in the Appetite & Obesity research group. The project is led by Professor Eric Robinson and Dr Jenna Cummings, University of Liverpool. Project partners include Imperial College London. The post will involve leading a laboratory experiment investigating the impact that food processing and food nutritional content have on daily energy intake. For related previous research, see: https://www.cell.com/cell-metabolism/pdf/S1550-4131(19)30248-7.pdf https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38879728/ Key responsibilities and duties: ¿ Study ethical approval application. ¿ Study design, protocol development and laboratory diet planning. ¿ Leading on participant recruitment, data collection and analysis. ¿ Supervising a graduate level research assistant to support data collection. ¿ To support the dissemination of the research, including contribution to research publications and conference presentations. ¿ To contribute to project reports and presentations to stakeholders where appropriate. ¿ To identify and engage in personal development opportunities to support your career development. You should have a PhD in nutrition, public health nutrition or a related field (i.e. nutrition related) and minimum of at least one publication as first author and a publication record appropriate to stage of career (i.e., grade 7, spine point 31). The post is available for 24 months fixed term, with potential for extension for a further 6 months once in post. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31. If you require a visa to work in the UK, the University of Liverpool may be able to support your application for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route. Or there maybe the option to support your application under the Global Talent Visa, Depending on your circumstances you may find you can apply for one independently without University support.
