We are recruiting a lead post-doctoral researcher with a background in nutrition for an ESRC funded project on ultra-processed food, nutrition and eating behaviour. The researcher will join the Department of Psychology and be based in the Appetite & Obesity research group. The project is led by Professor Eric Robinson and Dr Jenna Cummings, University of Liverpool. Project partners include Imperial College London. The post will involve leading a laboratory experiment investigating the impact that food processing and food nutritional content have on daily energy intake. For related previous research, see: https://www.cell.com/cell-metabolism/pdf/S1550-4131(19)30248-7.pdf https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38879728/ Key responsibilities and duties: ¿ Study ethical approval application. ¿ Study design, protocol development and laboratory diet planning. ¿ Leading on participant recruitment, data collection and analysis. ¿ Supervising a graduate level research assistant to support data collection. ¿ To support the dissemination of the research, including contribution to research publications and conference presentations. ¿ To contribute to project reports and presentations to stakeholders where appropriate. ¿ To identify and engage in personal development opportunities to support your career development. You should have a PhD in nutrition, public health nutrition or a related field (i.e. nutrition related) and minimum of at least one publication as first author and a publication record appropriate to stage of career (i.e., grade 7, spine point 31). The post is available for 24 months fixed term, with potential for extension for a further 6 months once in post. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
