As the public face of our properties, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit. Salary: 12.75 per hour Hours/working pattern: This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role include weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts. Shifts will generally run from 10:15am- 5:00pm. On average you can expect to be offered 1-3 shifts a week. For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role. What it's like to work here As a Welcome & Service Team Member you’ll be a key member of the small but motivated Melford Hall Visitor Welcome team, which is integral to the delivery of the visitor experience, working alongside paid staff and volunteers to set families up for an amazing experience. Predominantly an outdoors role, you'll assist with car parking, will loan out off-road powered mobility vehicles & will assist in driving the visitor shuttle. You'll also be an active 1st Aider at Work (full training given). What you'll be doing Day to day, you’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can. You’ll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from key property events to social media promotion - no two days are the same. You’ll provide a fantastic welcome to visitors to the property, will take payment for admission whilst actively promoting National Trust membership. You'll also be responsible for cashing up the till and following correct financial processes. Actively involved with growing support, you’ll help to increase fundraising income in the second-hand bookshop and through sales of pin badges and guidebooks. You'll also be involved in helping to deliver our programme of events throughout the season including our family activities and general visitor offer.
