We are looking for a hands-on, organised, and motivated Distribution Manager to lead distribution operations in our modern weighbridge at our busy quarry site. This is a key role in managing the flow of materials, coordinating a team of weighbridge staff and drivers, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all associated systems, and having overall control of a small fleet of vehicles – all critical to the supply of high-quality aggregate and asphalt to our customers.
Your Role:
* Team Leadership: Supervise and support weighbridge staff and HGV drivers, ensuring efficient loading, dispatching, and vehicle tracking.
* Operational Oversight: Oversee the day-to-day running of the weighbridge, ensuring accurate weighing of vehicles and load documentation.
* Site Maintenance: Coordinate regular cleaning and basic maintenance of the weighbridge and surrounding areas to maintain safe, clean, and functional working conditions.
* Compliance & Standards: Ensure compliance with all relevant quarrying, transport, and environmental regulations. Maintain accurate records for audits, stock levels, and delivery reports.
* Customer Focus: Work closely with commercial teams, hauliers, and customers to coordinate collections and deliveries, providing excellent service and timely information.
* Fleet: Having responsibility for 14 plus HGV vehicles and outside hauliers

What You'll Bring:
* Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards in heavy industry.
* Previous experience in a quarry, aggregate, or asphalt environment is essential.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing operational teams.
* Solid understanding of weighbridge systems and transport logistics.
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Competency using weighbridge software and Microsoft Office.
* Knowledge of Transport and Compliance – A CPC Holder would be preferred, although training will be given to gain this
