Woodwind Instructor
South Lanarkshire Council’s Instrumental Music Service provides high-quality music tuition to thousands of children and young people across our schools, encouraging creativity, confidence, and a lifelong passion for music.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and self-motivated Woodwind Instructor to join our dynamic team. If you have a passion for teaching, a love of music, and the drive to help young people achieve their full potential, we’d love to hear from you.
As a Woodwind Specialist, you will deliver inspiring and engaging group tuition across South Lanarkshire schools. You’ll have sound knowledge of the current curriculum, including SQA and external examination requirements, and the ability to plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences for pupils of all abilities.
You’ll also play an active role in leading and supporting school and authority ensembles, helping to build vibrant performance opportunities and contributing to the musical life of South Lanarkshire.
We’re looking for someone who:
* Is passionate about music education and inspiring children and young people.
* Can work independently and collaboratively, managing lessons and ensembles, time, and resources effectively.
* Has strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate learners and clearly share goals.
* Brings enthusiasm, professionalism, and creativity to learners and colleagues.
Applicants must hold a degree in a recognised music course, possess sound pedagogical understanding of the woodwind family, and demonstrate expertise in the woodwind family of instruments.
Experience of ensemble leadership and evidence of innovative, successful teaching practice will be highly regarded.
