Hours: Part Time, 8:15 am to 3:30 pm (additional hours available for wraparound provision).
Contract: Permanent. Required as soon as possible.
Salary: £12.81 – £14.07 per hour.
Overview
Due to the increasing number of children on role, we need you to lead the EYFS team at Helmingham Primary School and to support the delivery of exceptional provision across our nursery and reception. At Helmingham, the outdoor learning is incredibly valued, and we would like new staff to embed this in everyday practice. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and share best practice in a small rural setting where skills and initiative are valued and we focus on the development of the whole child.
Responsibilities
Lead the EYFS team and deliver outstanding curriculum planning and delivery using the EYFS curriculum and school topic structures. Support day‑to‑day nursery room routines, embed outdoor learning into everyday practice, and foster strong parent partnerships. Attend staff meetings, safeguarding training, and other developmental activities.
Requirements
* Current knowledge of EYFS requirements, policy and legislation.
* Ability to lead with the planning and delivery of the curriculum using the EYFS curriculum and school topic structures for guidance.
* Real passion and drive for working with and educating children.
* Outstanding classroom practice.
* Relevant Level 3 or above childcare qualification.
* Commitment to attendance at regular staff meetings and safeguarding training sessions.
* Adherence to policies, procedures and GDPR guidelines.
* Confidentiality maintenance.
* Good mathematics, English and ICT skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Initiative and support of day‑to‑day nursery room routines.
* Skilled in supporting children’s learning, including pupils with SEND.
* A desire to progress professional development and to participate in nursery and trust CPD opportunities.
* Understanding of safeguarding processes and procedures.
* Willingness to travel to other school sites as required.

Qualifications
* Level 3 or higher in Early Years Childcare.
* Grade C/+ mathematics and English.
* Good computer literacy.
* Paediatric First Aid (preferable).
