This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated, skilled, and knowledgeable Locum Radiology Consultant to join a prestigious NHS trust.
Working flexibly, you will act as an expert consultant to the referring physician, analyzing images to help diagnose, monitor, and treat various conditions, diseases, and injuries.
You will work alongside a friendly, multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, using advanced imaging technology including CT, MRI, PET, and fusion imaging.
As a Radiology team specialist, you will have access to development and support packages to enhance your knowledge or explore new intervention techniques.
Qualifications and skills required:
* GMC registration (you do NOT need to be on the Specialist Register)
* Relevant experience at Consultant level or supporting references for transition to Consultant
* Evidence of right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
* Pass an enhanced background check (DBS)
* Quick thinking, analytical skills, patience, calmness under stress, attention to detail, problem-solving, time management, teamwork, and a desire to develop professionally.
Main duties include:
* Using imaging to diagnose and manage medical conditions
* Providing expert guidance to colleagues
* Collaborating with medical and non-medical staff to ensure quality care
* Electing appropriate radiology techniques and guiding minimally invasive procedures
* Supporting and communicating with patients and families
* Participating in multidisciplinary team activities
* Assessing patient needs, delegating tasks, and reporting conditions
* Performing administrative tasks as needed
