Power BI Developer - F&O, Swindon, Wiltshire
Element has an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented Power BI Developer. You will need strong analytical capabilities, a deep understanding of finance processes, and a passion for transforming complex data into clear insights using Power BI.
This role involves working within the Enterprise Integration and Reporting team, alongside the Finance team and other business areas. The primary goal is to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial reports through Power BI, mainly using Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
Core Responsibilities
* Develop, optimise, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that meet finance needs.
* Collaborate with finance stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into data models and visualisations.
* Connect to, transform, and model data from D365 Finance and Operations and other relevant systems.
* Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reports.
* Support governance and documentation of BI solutions, including data dictionaries and report inventories.
* Assist in deploying new Power BI features and train users as needed.
* Work with IT and Finance teams on data improvement and performance optimisation initiatives.
Skills / Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
* Strong understanding of Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and data modelling best practices.
* Experience with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, especially its finance modules and data structures.
* Solid grasp of financial principles, terminology, and reporting requirements.
* Excellent communication skills for collaboration across teams.
* Familiarity with Azure Data Lake, Synapse, or similar tools (preferred but not essential).
Experience Needed:
* Multiple years of delivering Power BI solutions with hands-on experience with D365 Finance and Operations data sources.
* Proven ability to deliver impactful, user-friendly reports to non-technical audiences.
