Case Worker - County Lines (WMJobs)

The role of Case Worker - County Lines is an excellent opportunity to provide one-to-one tailored support to young people, working collaboratively as part of a multi-agency team, to ensure the safety of young people and maximise their outcomes. Tailoring support to each young person's individual needs and circumstances, our case workers work as part of the Home Office-funded County Lines Support and Rescue Service.


Responsibilities

* Providing appropriate end-to-end support and interventions to a pre-defined caseload of young people and their families involved in County Lines activity, via effective assessment, care planning, and risk management.
* Proactively assessing and managing caseload risks, escalating through safeguarding procedures, and adapting case management frequency and methodology to individual needs.
* Ensure diverse needs and aspirations of all groups of service users are considered in service planning and delivery to enable all service users to fulfil their potential.
* Liaise with local partner organisations and other relevant agencies to ensure effective referrals, care, risk management, and smooth transition and referral for young people.
* Promote continued joint work with the service and other partners, acting as a point of contact where required.


About You

* Great verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain relationships with key partner agencies and work effectively as part of a team.
* Honest and reliable, with a creative and flexible approach to all aspects of work.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage conflicting demands through problem-solving and a can-do attitude.
* Experience of working with and delivering training to young people and professionals in group and one-to-one settings.
* Strong attention to detail and knowledge of risk assessments, engagement strategies, and intervention strategies for young people with complex needs.
* Experience of using recording and data collation systems.


Main Duties and Accountabilities

* Continuously assess and manage caseload risks, escalating as necessary through safeguarding procedures, and adapt frequency and methods to individual needs.
* Consider diverse needs and aspirations of all service users in service planning and delivery to enable potential fulfilment.
* Coordinate with local partner organisations and agencies to ensure referrals, care, risk management, and smooth transitions.
* Support joint work with partners and act as a single point of contact where required.


Qualifications

Experience of working with young people up to 25 and their families in a community setting, preferably with complex needs. Experience of inter-agency working, preferably with Children's and Family Services/Youth Justice/Youth Services. Knowledge of risk and vulnerability issues among young people. Good ICT skills with experience using data recording and data collation systems.


Details

* Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum
* Hours of work: Full-time, 37 hours per week
* Contract: Permanent
* Flexibility: Hybrid working arrangements available where service delivery allows
* Rescue Service requires designated staff to be on-call until 10pm (rota)
* This role requires access to a car and a full manual driving licence
* Travel across the regional area and occasional evening and weekend working may be required
