Children’s Residential Support Worker – EBD
* Location: MK
* Salary: £300 PER shift, 3 shifts a week £46,704 per year
* Hours: Full-time / Shift-based (including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins)
* Contract Type: Permanent
Join our dedicated team as a Children’s Residential Support Worker, where you will support children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This role is crucial in providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment, helping our young residents to thrive and develop essential life skills.
Responsibilities
* Build trusting relationships with children and young people, offering emotional support and guidance.
* Promote positive behaviour and manage challenging situations with empathy and consistency.
* Support daily routines including education, leisure activities, meals, and personal care.
* Encourage independence and life skills through structured activities and mentoring.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to care plans and risk assessments.
* Work collaboratively with social workers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
* Ensure the home meets regulatory standards and promotes a warm, homely atmosphere.
* Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development opportunities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a residential or EBD setting.
* Understanding of trauma-informed care and safeguarding principles.
* Strong communication, de-escalation, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to behavioural challenges constructively.
* A genuine passion for making a difference in young lives.
* Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins.
* NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or willingness to work towards it).
* Enhanced DBS check (required prior to employment).
* Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
