Freelance Project Manager – Heavy Civils / Utilities / Rail
Location: East London
Contract: Freelance (until June 2028)
Hours: 45 hours per week
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to deliver complex infrastructure works across heavy civils, utilities, rail and water projects.
This role requires a strong site-based Project Manager with proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and programmes in a high-risk environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Full project delivery from planning through to completion
Programme management (P6 and short-term look-ahead)
Managing subcontractors and site teams
Ensuring compliance with NEC3/NEC4 contracts
Overseeing temporary works and site safety
Client and stakeholder management
Essential Experience:
Strong background in heavy civils / utilities / rail / water
Previous Project Manager experience on large infrastructure schemes
Temporary Works Coordinator / Supervisor experience
P6 programming and short-term planning
NEC3 / NEC4 contract experience
Subcontract management
Desirable:
Experience on Thames Water projects
Rail project experience
NRSWA
Lifting AP qualification
Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience)
