*Job Summary*
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicle types (classics, one of custom models, engine rebuilds, BMW minis, Porsches and more exciting projects) to ensure optimal operational efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional with a strong background in mechanical repairs, servicing, car builds and maintenance. The ideal applicant will possess a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
*Responsibilities*
* Conduct thorough inspections of machinery and vehicles to identify faults or potential issues.
* Perform repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks on engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other mechanical components. Performing test runs to check repairs (full drivers licence required).
* Installing and fitting new vehicle accessories.
* Ability to work on custom builds.
* Welding skills would be an advantage, but not essential .
* Some knowledge of auto electrics but necessary as we do have a dedicated auto electrician on staff.
* Use specialised tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot complex problems accurately.
* Maintain detailed records of all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities in accordance with company standards.
* Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
* Assist in the installation of new equipment or machinery as required.
* Provide guidance and support to junior team members when necessary to promote best practices.
*Experience*
* Proven experience as a Mechanic within a similar environment, ideally with experience working on diverse vehicle types.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
* Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software is highly desirable.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
* Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent are preferred but not essential for highly experienced candidates.
