Receptionist/Administrator
We are seeking a dedicated Receptionist/Administrator to become a key part of the reception and administrative teams at our School. The ideal candidate will handle visitors professionally, carry out general administrative tasks, and maintain a flexible and positive attitude.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, ensuring a welcoming, safe, and secure entry to the school.
* Operate gate entry systems, answer telephone calls, and liaise with Site Services as required.
* Monitor the school’s camera system to support the safeguarding of students and staff.
* Oversee the work of the school’s student receptionists.
* Manage external communication to parents and carers, including letters and texts.
* Maintain the Reception area’s appearance and condition.
* Organise school tours and handle post.
* Collate Positive Contributions and create the Tutor Bulletin.
* Manage the distribution of the school’s Tablet Scheme and cover for Reprographics when needed.
* Order stationery for the Student Services department and assist with student enrolment.
* Perform typing and spreadsheet work, ensuring student contact details are up-to-date in line with GDPR.
* Undertake other general administrative tasks as directed.
* Assist the Attendance Officer and organise procedures for hosting visitors.
* Prepare display materials and manage the community board.
* Create staff badges for events and serve as a First Aider.
* Participate in the school’s staff duty rota and be available for occasional work at Academy events.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Experience in a reception or administrative role.
* Professional and friendly demeanour with the ability to handle visitors efficiently.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficiency in using office equipment and computer systems.
* Ability to work flexibly and adapt to various tasks.
* Commitment to the Academy’s ethos and policies, including safeguarding young people.
* A record of excellent health, attendance, and punctuality.
