Overview

We are delighted to share that have vacancies in our Through Care and Safeguarding Social work teams.

If you answered 'Yes', then Worcestershire Children's Services needs to be your next move! You will be supported by and working with a stable, permanent management group in teams where the culture of 'team' being a supportive learning environment is embedded with regular supervision, manageable caseloads, and regular team meetings. We know how important this is in achieving forward thinking and progressive social work practice where children and young people experience a great consistent and responsive service, and our partners have trust and confidence in us.

Safeguarding Services: Social Workers in the Locality Safeguarding Area are responsible for implementing complex child in need planning, child protection plans and public court proceedings. The focus of the work is supporting families to care for their children safely. As Social Workers you will work closely with Specialist Family Support Services and a multi-disciplinary team working with families who are affected by substance use, mental health difficulties and domestic violence - this supporting you to have more time to undertake direct work with children & young people!

Through Care: The Through Care Service supports children and young people who have permanent plans to remain looked after, we also support all the UASC young children within the service. Your work will be supporting young people to ensure that they have the correct care plan, and this is progressed in a timely way. Our Through Care Service is aligned to our Family Time Service and our Health & Wellbeing Service - ensuring timely access to wellbeing support to our looked after children and carers.

While you are working hard, doing your best for the people of Worcestershire, we will do our best to provide an environment that supports and inspires you.

Here are some of the top reasons why you should work here.

The work we do at Worcestershire County Council matters!
