Job Overview
The Junior Operational Cancer Manager supports the Directorate Management Team, as directed by senior clinical leadership, in the efficient and effective operational management of resources across the Directorate/Service lines. The holder will contribute to high‑quality patient care, support measurable improvements in national cancer standards, and lead cancer pathway improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Directorate Management Team in resource planning and management.
* Deputise for Operational Services Managers and provide cover during absences.
* Lead and support cancer pathway improvement initiatives, working closely with the Directorate Team, Lung Cancer Clinical Lead and Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
* Provide regular updates on key pathway actions to reduce avoidable delays and improve communication across the lung cancer diagnostic and treatment pathway.
* Collaborate with other Directorates/Care Groups to deliver the Trust’s strategic and corporate agenda.
Qualifications
* Experience and/or qualifications in Organisational Development.
* Experience in a similar role.
* Knowledge of cancer standards and experience managing a Patient Treatment Line (PTL).
* Ability to use initiative to solve problems and develop the service.
* Ability to understand, interpret and critically analyse data and information.
