Location: Oxford Salary: £41,000 Shift Pattern: Days The Role We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer with a strong electrical bias to join our engineering team in Oxford. You will be responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime, carrying out planned maintenance, and responding quickly to breakdowns in a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery Diagnose and repair electrical faults including motors, drives, sensors, PLCs and control systems Support mechanical maintenance tasks when required Work collaboratively with production teams to minimise downtime Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability projects Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures Requirements Recognised electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent) Proven experience in a manufacturing / industrial maintenance environment Strong fault-finding skills on electrical systems and control panels Basic mechanical competence (bearings, belts, gearboxes, etc.) Experience with PLC fault finding (desirable) Ability to work shifts including nights and weekends Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
