Duty Solicitor - Manchester / London
A leading criminal defence firm is seeking a skilled and dedicated Duty Solicitor to join their highly regarded and well-established team.
You will manage a busy and varied caseload, representing clients at police stations, Magistrates' Courts, and Crown Courts. The role offers the opportunity to deal with a wide spectrum of criminal work, ranging from day-to-day matters through to high-profile and complex cases.
This position involves delivering high-quality legal advice and strong advocacy across a broad range of criminal matters, including serious crime, fraud, drugs offences, assault, and public order offences. You will play a key role in safeguarding client interests and ensuring access to justice.
The Candidate
* Accredited Duty Solicitor with a current practising certificate
* Proven experience in managing a diverse range of criminal cases from start to finish
* Strong advocacy skills with the ability to represent confidently in both Magistrates’ and Crown Courts
* Excellent communication and client care abilities, with a proactive and empathetic approach to handling sensitive matters
* Organised and resilient with the ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines effectively
* A collaborative team player who is also confident working independently on a demanding caseload
