Your new role
Here at Hitachi Rail, we have a unique and exciting opportunity for a Project Controller. Supporting the Senior S&M High Speed Project Controller in financial management, control, reporting & budgeting/forecasting for Service & Maintenance Projects.
Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:
* Prepare the actual/forecasts and bi-annual reports for TSA Projects and present to Senior S&M High Speed Project Controller on a monthly basis
* Preparation of monthly reporting packs relating to aforementioned projects & operations.
* Acting as business partner to budget holders, supporting with project cost controlling & reporting for S&M projects. Leading periodic financial reviews with local stakeholders.
* Support the preparation and analysis of other financial information relating to Service and Maintenance projects as required.
* Identify & support mitigation of project risks and the capture of project opportunities in conjunction with the Senior S&M High Speed Project Controller.
* Preparation of project cash flow forecasts.
* Support Free Cash Flow management by ensuring all sales invoices are submitted in an accurate & timely fashion to contract milestones and deliverables.
* Support Free Cash Flow management by ensuring all sales invoices are paid within contractual payment terms.
* Support Free Cash Flow management by stock reporting & controlling.
* Working with Procurement to ensure supplier payment terms for goods/services deliverable to S&M East projects are maximised and fulfilled.
* Support the external audit process in conjunction with the Financial Accounting team.
* Ensure compliance with HRE’s financial controls, policies and procedures and the Group’s internal controls standards. Supporting internal audit and JSOX compliance.
* Assist other areas of the business during set up phase where required
About you
Essential
* Advanced skills and knowledge in Excel.
* High regard for attention to detail and accuracy
* Experienced in SAP
* Experience of working in a large matrix based organisation with multiple reporting lines
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work as part of a cross-culture team
Desirable
* Understanding and appreciation of Japanese working practices and Culture
* Previous experience in long term contract/project accounting
* Experience SOX would be advantageous
* Experience of working within a similar or manufacturing organisation (e.g. Aerospace, Railway)
